Other Games

This is everything besides Roleplaying Games and Computer Games.

Adventure Card Games

I'm not very interested in traditional card games, but I do enjoy what I'll call Adventure Card Games, which encompass what most would call collectable card games and games of similar ilk.

I had been avoiding collectable card games for various philosophical and pratical reasons, but I got a couple of starting decks of Magic: the Gathering as a present for Christmas 1995; not surprisingly, it was fun, so I played them occassionally. I'm still unhappy about the collectable aspect of the games, and a few other things. I found the announcement of the Wizards of the Coast patent on trading-card games unsettling, and it further reduced my interest in their games.

Unfortunately, I can't find anyone willing to play either Mythos or Illuminati (which I've had since the mid-80s) with me. (Hmm. I didn't think I was that scary!)

Family Games

Risk, Monopoly, Clue, and so on, these are the old standards. Fun but nothing special.

Card Games

I've never been very interested in card games for some reason. Most of them bore me to tears, and the others are only just bearable.
